Junction 14 Mayfield was announced as the winner of Ireland’s Forecourt of the year at the 20th annual ShelfLife National C-Store Awards in association with Cuisine De France & The National Lottery. The event took place at Dublin’s Royal Marine Hotel on March 10th and saw us also winning the Large Forecourt Retailer of the Year, Food to Go Retailer of the Year and an award for the Best New Convenience Store Concept.
When it came to the big award of the night, the prestigious National Convenience Store of the Year, Junction 14 Mayfield once topped the leader board.
The ShelfLife C-Store Awards are the only comprehensive and independently judged business accolades for the C-Store sector and honour the excellent achievements of operators in the convenience retail trade. Originally due to be held in November 2021, the ceremony was postponed due to the increase of Covid-19 hospitalisations occurring at that time, and to ensure the safety of all involved.
“We are all thrilled to have won these four awards, it’s a real reflection of the hard work and dedication that team at Junction 14 Mayfield have put into their departments!” said Gavin Moran the site manager of the landmark motorway service station.
“As Ireland’s original motorway service area , we are always innovating so that we can continue to offer one of the best facilities along this country’s motorways, and it’s great to get such huge recognition from Shelflife. Our key strength is our dedicated team committed to deliver excellent customer service and the range of excellent brands with Insomnia, Supermacs, Papa John’s, Zambrero, Gino’s Gelato, Chopped, Subway, Spar, Texaco and Mayfield Fare restaurant. The choice that this gives people is what keeps the customers coming back, but it takes a huge team effort to manage all of these counters, so we are really lucky to have so many excellent people working with us.” he continued.
Liam Fitzpatrick, director of the Lidon Group said “The whole team at Junction 14 Mayfield and support team have put in a huge effort over the past 10 years since the site opened. Following on from expanding the premises and adding new brands in 2020, we’ve had a challenging two years with the Covid 19 pandemic, but the managers and staff at the site stayed very focused on delivering excellent service and customer care throughout that time, so that people felt that they could avail of top quality fuel, food and beverages while being kept safe at all times”
“We are the first port of call for hundreds of commuters each morning and indeed the last stop of the day for many on the M7 late in the evening, and are delighted to see so many buses back on the roads with matches and events starting up again. We pride ourselves in working with the local community through sports sponsorship and school competitions along with having a strong culture of customer service excellence. Junction 14 Mayfield is also well known in the locality for its loyalty programmes and value for money.” Liam added.
This is not the first time we have been recognized nationally as we were named Forecourt Retailer of the Year three years in a row between 2012 and 2014 from Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Awards to name just a few.
